Introduction:-
Cook with Rekha Family has always been a place where we share traditional Indian cooking and cultural experiences with people from all over the world. On the evening of 27th September 2025, we had the honor of hosting a very special guest – Marie-Laure Ebel from France, a solo traveller who joined our Udaipur cooking class at 4 PM.
🌺 A Traditional Indian Welcome
When Marie arrived, our family welcomed her in the Traditional Indian way with a tikka ceremony. It was a warm and heartfelt beginning. We spent some time getting to know each other, asking small but meaningful questions like – “Where are you from in France?”, “How was your day?”, “What do you do for a living?”, “Is this your first trip to India?”, and even “Is cooking your hobby too?”.
☕ Starting with Indian Masala Chai -
To begin the evening, we made our all-time favorite – Indian masala chai. The fragrance of fresh spices created a cozy atmosphere. As we sipped tea, we introduced ourselves and shared how cooking is not just our passion but also something we have been teaching since 2017.
🍴 Cooking Session Begins – Pakoras, Curries, Khichdi & Rotis
After chai, we started the cooking session. Together with Marie, we prepared:
- Crispy Indian Pakoras (Fritters)
- Two varieties of traditional Indian curries
- Rajasthani-style Khichdi
- 3–4 types of Chapatis (Indian flatbreads)
The most exciting part was kneading the dough and rolling chapatis, where Marie had a lot of fun experimenting and learning.
🙏 Navratri Celebration & Garba Night
Since the day coincided with Navratri, we all came together for a Mata Durga aarti (prayer). After the prayers, we dressed up in colorful Garba outfits to join the festive dance night.
With lots of laughter, we hopped on a single scooty – Rekha, Akhilesh, and Marie together – and rode to the nearby garden. There, we bought passes, entered the ground, and joined hundreds of people dancing to the beats of Garba. The joy was infectious! We clicked selfies, danced with the crowd, and captured memories to cherish forever.
🚖 Goodbye but Not the End
By 11:30 PM, we returned home, and my husband Akhilesh dropped Marie back at her hotel. We said our goodbyes with a smile, “Good night, sweet dreams, see you again.”
It wasn’t just a cooking class – it was the start of a new friendship and a bond that will always remain close to our hearts.
🌟 Conclusion
Every class at Cook with Rekha Family is a unique journey, and this evening with Marie-Laure Ebel from France was truly one of the most memorable experiences we’ve ever had.
